Sony eBook Reader Review - Past & Present Models
The Sony ebook reader has been trying to compete with the Amazon Kindle for quite some time now. They were left in the dust when Kindle had an e-reader capable of wireless connectivity for downloads. The Sony Reader did not. But they are making all kinds of improvements as we write.The latest ebook reader from Sony is the Sony Reader PRS-T2. The Sony PRS-T2 is quite similar to the previous model, PRS-T1, with just a few minor feature additions and cosmetic changes. One feature that has been removed from the older model is that the PRS-T2 no longer has audio capability, but neither do many of the other E-Ink ereader models from other brands. The Sony Reader PRS-T2 costs about the same, if not more, as Kindle and Nook E-Ink readers, but does not really offer much compared to the Paperwhite, Nook Touch or even the Kindle 5 basic model. But if you just prefer Sony products over others, take a look at what's available here:

The Sony Reader PRS-950 Daily Edition is in response to the Kindle DX which has a larger reading screen. The Sony PRS-950 now has a 7 inch wide diagonal screen. The grayscale level has also been increased from level 8 to level 16.

You may be able to find some good deals on the Sony Reader Daily Edition on eBay. Look for units selling for less than $299, including shipping. And note that there are older versions so look in the description for the model number, 950, or ask the seller directly.![]() |
