New Amazon Kindle DX Review

The New Amazon Kindle DX - now only $379! is here for all you wireless reading device ebook reader lovers who wanted more - bigger screen for you to enjoy your reading experience ever more. Not only does it have a bigger screen with auto-rotation for landscape reading, it also holds up to 3,500 books instead of only 1,500 as in the original Kindle (new Kindle 3 version now also holds 3,500 books). And now, like the smaller Kindle, the Kindle DX Global edition has wireless capability in over 100+ countries as well! Below is a Kindle price comparison of all models.

Kindle DX Review of Features

The Kindle DX has many new improvements from even the Amazon Kindle 2. It is still thin, just over one third of an inch. It has a huge display which is most helpful for reading formats such as newspapers, magazines, pdfs, blogs, etc. The screen size is now 9.7 inches instead of 6 inches in the previous ebook reader.

You can now view your reading material either in the normal vertical position or now in a landscape view. Nice, way to go Amazon. Good for maps, tables and the like. People were asking about reading PDFs and now you can with ease. It has a 5-way controller, comes out of the box ready to go, no complicated installation or start-up directions. Just turn on and read away.

And now it also has international download capability in over 100 countries so you can take your Kindle DX Global ereader when traveling abroad!

Amazon Kindle 4 - Has a smaller screen, but also weighs less than the DX and now has WiFi. Good for those who want more in the way of portability. Lower priced at only $79 vs $379. Or try Amazon's new Kindle Touch, starting at only $99 or the Kindle Fire Tablet  with color screen at $199..

Kindle vs Sony - The Amazon Kindle is way better than the Sony. So unless your really don't have the cash, don't bother with Sony.

Below are listings from ebay for the Amazon Kindle DX. I'd buy directly from Amazon right now because it is cheaper and shipping is free. Some sellers at ebay are selling at a much higher price because they have it immediately in stock. Amazon can ship it to to you free, so unless the price is significantly lower than $379, always order with Amazon. Here are some more Amazon Kindle DX Used Units as well.

Just remember, if the seller does not state what model you are getting, than ask - if it is important to you. There have been several models of the Kindle DX and you might be getting one cheaper, but it may be an older model. For example, the older models were not globally capable.
