Listed in the display box to the left are the 3 current Kindle editions available for purchase from Amazon. They include the Kindle International (Global), Kindle DX and the Original Kindle. The original is priced a little cheaper than the Kindle Global version if you are looking to save some money, but really the difference is not that much and I would advise buying the newest version. There are a lot of additional features on the latest version that are not included on the original Kindle, the wireless capability for the U.S. and in over 100 countries worldwide is just one addition. Better screen, better ergonomic shape, more memory, just to name a few.
If you want a larger reading screen and twice the amount of memory for storage, then you may want to consider getting the Amazon Kindle DX - Bigger Screen & Larger Capacity - 3,500 Books!

Alternatively, you can buy new and used Kindles on ebay below. Some people are selling their original Kindles so they can get the new version. So if you don't want to spend $259, you can save some money by buying an original.
There are sellers also offering brand new Kindle 2.0 packages, but I wouldn't purchase one unless it is significantly less than $259 with free shipping - otherwise just buy one from Amazon directly!

The first original Amazon Kindle was released in November, 2007 and has become a world-wide phenomenon. Prior to its release, the only other ebook reader or wireless reading device that was comparable was Sony's ebook reader.
